Judy Pfaff

Born in London in 1946, Judy Pfaff settled in America at the age of thirteen.  She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Washington University and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Yale University. In 1983 Pfaff was the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship. In 1997 she became a Fellow of the Saint Gaudens Memorial.  She has taught at several of the country’s most illustrious universities, including Princeton. She is currently the Chair of the Art Department at Bard College.  Pfaff is a recipient of the coveted MacArthur Award.  Over the course of her career, she has worked in many media—from large scale installations to intricate prints and collages.
