Suzanne Caporael is a New York-based artist who was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1949. She earned both her B.A. and M.F.A at the Otis Art Institute of Parson’s School of Design in Los Angeles. She is widely known for her paintings, woodcuts and prints which center around the phenomena of the natural world. Her work examines the science of nature through an artist’s eye, often focusing on the relationship between elements - land and sky, river and sea. Caporael’s paintings can be seen in galleries and museums nationwide, including the Art Institute of Chicago, the Yale University Art Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, CA and the Cleveland Museum of Art.
